Queen's of India
Queen's of India is the sister operation to the established and highly successful Queen’s Tandoor on Jalan Seminyak Raya operated by the same management. Situated at the front gates of the Dynasty Hotel in Tuban, the two level structure features a chic front corner cocktail bar as well as extensive al fresco seating and plenty of table space downstairs and upstairs. The restaurant features an immaculate stainless steel kitchen with full sized observation windows where diners can get a glimpse into the inner sanctum of the Queen’s kitchen. Try the Fish Kalimirch coated in ground black pepper, Jaffran wrapped in saffron, Harra marinated in mint and Kastoori with the distinctive flavour of fenugreek. Prawns from the Tandoor are as good as the chicken. Ambi Prawns flavoured with mango or the smokey flavoured Bhatti Prawns are highly recommended. Other standards include Keema Mutter - minced lamb with green peas, muntani Chicken Kofta - minced chicken wrapped in an egg coating and the Prawn Hydrabadi, cooked with spinach, cashew nuts, and unusual spices. Another style unique to Queen's of India is the Hot Rice Bowl containing a serving of Indian rice and a choice of seasoned meats or seafood whilst thin slices of egg-coated potato are served on the side. Queen's of India is an exceptional mid range budget priced eatery, perfectly located in the bustling Tuban area of Kuta. One thing for certain is that Queen’s of India is going to follow the successful footsteps of its bigger brother Queen’s Tandoor. With plans afoot to franchise the Queen’s brand throughout Bali there is certainly cause for an Indian style celebration, and what better way to celebrate than in one of the island’s premier Indian restaurants? |
